My name is Scott Podgurski, but most of you at Vitality know me as, “Coach Scott.” By day I am an elementary school teacher, which I have been doing for the past 22 years. When I’m not teaching or spending time with my wife and two daughters, you will likely find me moving! I have never been good at sitting still, which likely fueled my passion for fitness. I was primarily a runner for many years until it took its toll on my body. It was not until my late 30s that I discovered the benefits of strength training and a more well rounded approach to fitness. The daily aches and pains of running become a thing of the past. Everything became stronger and I realized fitness was multi-dimensional. My experience in education and working with runners, along with a new found passion for strength and conditioning led me down a path of coaching. For the past 10 years I have coached at several gyms in the area and Vitality for the last 3.5 years. Along the way I have worked with some great coaches and athletes. These opportunities gave me knowledge and evolved my understanding of fitness. Not to mention the amazing people I have met along the way. It was this path and these relationships that led me to Vitality and a style of training that I feel is most inline with what my personal philosophy of fitness. We need our fitness to survive. Coaching at Vitality helps me put this philosophy into practice and work with some great people along the way!
